Answers to Frequently Asked Questions


Q:  What happens during the initial interview?
A:  During the first interview, you will have the opportunity to learn more about our services and qualifications, and we will have the opportunity to learn more about your pets, become familiar with your home/routine, and discuss all important information about your pet’s needs.  We charge do not charge a registration fee.  If you decide that we are right for you and if we agree that your pets are best served by us, you will need to fill out a few forms and provide us with a copy of your house key and any alarm security codes.


Q:  Are that any cancellations penalties?
A:  Yes, At Wags to Whiskers Pet Sitting Service we make every effort to ensure we can accommodate our regular clients.  Many times during the year we have to turn away clients because we have your down on our schedule.  Should you have to cancel this does not guarantee Wags  To Whiskers Pet Sitting a new client to fill the spaces you have cancelled and therefore there is a charge to cancel.  In the event you must cancel your reservations, please allow 48 hour notice.  There is a cancellation fee of 30% of your total and 40% of your total during the holidays ONLY if you fail to cancel 48 hours before the first day of schedule pet sitting.  Please make your reservations as early as possible and cancel before the 48 hour deadline to avoid cancellation fees. 


Q:  Can we trust you?
A:  Yes, for your protection Wags to Whiskers Pet Sitting Service is fully bonded and insured by Pet Association, LLC.  We are a professional member of Pet Sitting International.


Q:  What kind of animals do we care for?
A:  We care for most animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, hermit crabs, birds, guinea pigs and hamsters.  We do not care for aggressive animals and/or animals with a history of biting.


Q:  How does Wags to Whiskers Pet Sitting Service get access to my home?
A:   There are two options we can handle your key.
1) You can leave a copy of your house and mail key with us. Your keys will be secured in our lock box in the office.
2) Before you depart home, simply place a door key in the Lock Box key compartment provided (Initial Lock box fee of $15) and attach the portable lock box device to a mutually agreed upon location (door handle most common). This prevents you from losing control of your keys as they will never leave your immediate premises.


Q. What if my property or pet is damaged while I am gone?
A. We agree to provide the services stated in our service agreement in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. Wags to Whiskers Pet Sitting Service is only liable for claims arising from negligence or willful misconduct. Due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, we cannot accept responsibility for unusual mishaps (i.e., biting, furniture damage, etc.). Also, if your pets have access to the outside, we are not responsible for injury, disappearance, or fines.


Q: How am I billed, and when is it due?
A: For first time clients, payment is required at the time of the initial consultation.  For all other clients payment is due at the time of the first scheduled visit.  Should client fail to leave payment an invoice will be mailed and payment is due within 7 business day after services have been completed.  One half deposit is assessed up front on all overnight care, long-term engagements (10 or more days), first time clients and clients with a history of later payment or cancellations.  The deposit is refundable less 30%/40% for administrative fees if cancellation of assignments is not received 48 hours in advance of scheduled sitting.


Q: May I give my Pet Staffer a gratuity?
A: Absolutely. You may give gratuities to your pet sitter.


Q: Am I going to have the same pet sitter every time?
A: Yes, we prefer to assign the same person to the house. And because we are family owned and operated, we also hold an information-sharing meeting weekly. Therefore, even if the same person is not available, the substitute will always be available and ready.


Q: Do you have references?
A: Yes. Excellent local references are available upon request.


Q: Do you share our personal information with anyone else?
A: No, all information we receive from you is strictly confidential.
